Invisalign®
At Trimmell Anders and White Orthodontics, we offer a modern approach to straightening your smile with Invisalign®, a discreet and convenient alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign® treatment uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners designed to gradually move your teeth into alignment. Whether you’re an adult looking to discreetly get that alignment correction you’ve been putting off, or a teen who prefers a barely noticeable solution, Invisalign® could be a good fit.
What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are made of clear plastic. Aligners are designed to fit over your teeth to move them into the correct position. In this way, aligners are similar to braces. Many people who are good candidates for braces are also good candidates for clear aligners.
How Invisalign® Works at Trimmell Anders and White Orthodontics
Invisalign® clear aligners are custom-crafted from smooth, BPA-free plastic. Using advanced 3D imaging technology, we create a precise treatment plan that maps out the gradual movement of your teeth. Each week, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners that gently shift your teeth, step by step, toward your ideal smile! The aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, drink, and brush without any restrictions. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain your regular oral hygiene routine, reducing the likelihood of plaque buildup and gum issues during your treatment.
Benefits of Choosing Invisalign®
One of the primary benefits of Invisalign is its low profile appearance. These transparent aligners are practically invisible to everyone but someone who’s standing incredibly close. This contributes to most wearers enjoying a level of confidence that traditional braces-wearers may lack. Invisalign® is also a more comfortable option in the physical sense, as there are no hard metal brackets or wires to irritate the sensitive gums, inside cheeks and inside lips.
We’re excited to offer Invisalign® as an effective alternative to traditional braces. One of the standout benefits of Invisalign® is the potential to shorten your overall treatment time, typically ranging from 6 to 18 months. However, every smile is unique, and the exact duration can vary based on individual circumstances. Our expert orthodontists in Wichita, KS will provide you with a personalized treatment plan and a clear timeline during your initial consultation, ensuring you have a comprehensive understanding of your journey to a straighter, healthier smile.
Who is a Candidate for Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is a versatile solution that can address a wide range of orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. We first assess each patient’s needs individually to determine if Invisalign® is the right choice. Note that Invisalign® may not be right for severe alignment issues. During your consultation, we will evaluate your orthodontic history and discuss your goals, providing you with a clear understanding of what to expect.
Which Is Better for Me: Braces or Aligners?
Braces and aligners do many of the same things. Braces and aligners can be equally effective for many patients, so if you’re considering braces or aligners for your teeth, it’s important to consider factors like cost, how long you’ll be wearing them, and comfort.
Not everyone can wear aligners instead of braces. Braces can treat everything from mild to severe misalignment, while aligners can only correct mild to moderate alignment issues. Your orthodontist at Trimmell, Anders, & White Orthodontics will help you decide which type of orthodontic tool is right for your needs.
What to Expect During Your Invisalign® Treatment
Starting Invisalign® treatment is a straightforward process, starting with a detailed consultation where you and your orthodontist will discuss your alignment needs. After your consultation, we will take detailed scans of your teeth and design a custom treatment plan. Approximately every 8 to 10 weeks, you’ll visit our office for a quick check-up, where we will monitor your progress and provide you with new aligners as needed.
